A nice update of Wordpress is out so I suggest you grab it. The feature that I think is the best is the tabbed editor. Additionally this feature is pretty cool:
You can set any “page” to be the front page of your site, and put the latest posts somewhere else, making it much easier to use WordPress as a content management system.

I still like Serendipity (http://www.s9y.org) better.
I tried Serendipity and though I liked the overall idea behind it I found the implementation rather poor. I found the administration interface cumbersome and not as navigable as I would have liked. It may have improved since I last tried it.
One of the things I feel that Wordpress does have going for it is it’s continued thrust towards using AJAX in the admin as well as the overall speed of the program. It also indexes quite nicely with spiders and it’s plugin interface is one of the best out there.
I haven’t tried it, but seams everyone and his brother uses it
