So I’m getting rolling with Twitter and discover that Gnome Do has a great twitter plugin or so it seems. So I go through the hoops and upgrade to 0.5 of Gnome Do, but for some reason I can’t get the twitter plugin to authenticate me. My twitter account name has a “_” in it, has anyone experienced this problem? Or have a suggestion of what I can use to twitter from Ubuntu. TIA.

I went ahead and installed Gnome Do and got myself the twitter account. Then I initiated the Twitter plugin in Gnome Do ….
Frankly I am kinda wondering what new use there is for either one of these two things. I use AWN for launching everything and have completely gotten rid of the Gnome Panel. And as for Twitter … looks like another Facebook to me….
But I could be totally wrong in that there are some super new features that I don’t know about …
Actually, I could not get Gnome Do to launch anything … does it have to be manually configured to launch an app or command?
Cheers….
(PS I am running Ubuntu Hardy)
I’ve got Gnome Do Launching took an uninstall then a reinstall to 0.50 (had to add a custom repo for that). Twitter is just one more way for me to stay connected with my contacts who use Twitter. Now all I need is a plugin that can update all my Social Accounts in one go, that way everyone can know when I’ve hit pain dirt simultaneously.
Yeah.. I also have Gnome Do launching … but I could not get Twitter to do much of anything…. even after entering my Username and Password in the Configuration area it still said I needed to enter it there … seemed pretty useless…. and eve the idea of Twitter, I don’t quite get!? How is it different from Skype or Facebook?
