I’ve been thinking about the Dlink DIR-625 as they have a pretty good CPU.

But if you can flash the linksys it might be better, what difference did you notice after the flashing?
Main things I noticed were increased range, less drops on connection. Router doesn’t hang as often (was hanging once a day with my Belkin N router).
Also if you want to do network bridging on wireless or over your WAN the tools in DD-WRT really help. I’m still trying to flash my Belkin with DD-WRT, a guy somewhere flashed his.
Have you looked into Tomato Firmware (http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato)? Would you recommend one over the other (dd-wrt VS tomato)?
AFAIK, Tomato won’t run on my router. However Tomato is a pretty solid firmware and if you don’t need the extras that DD-WRT brings it’s a good option.
When it comes to the wide range of *WRT firmwares. I prefer DD as both eko and brainslayer help make it into a solid release by being very active on their forums and with the community.
DD-WRT vs Tomato
DD-WRT is typically quite a bit better, and for those that argue that Tomato is good because they don’t need all the goodies in DD-WRT and want a lighter firmware, use the DD-WRT mini firmware or go to openWRT and customize your firmware.
I just used promo code EMCAFAJBC to save $10.00 off at

I see that I require at least v24 rc 7 – build 9344 (25.03.08) if I want DD-WRT
I was thinking this one: http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv2/downloads/release%20candidates/DD-WRT%20v24%20RC7/Broadcom/Linksys/WRT150N_v1.1/dd-wrt.v24_mega_generic.bin
but what did you use?
I followed this guide:
http://www.coderetard.com/2008/05/30/installing-dd-wrt-firmware-on-a-linksys-wrt150n-wireless-router/
and they seem to be using the stable version, not sure what exact version that is but the direct links are provided in their tutorial. Anyhow my WRT150N v1.1 is also working great with DD-WRT thanks to those steps.
NEVER use mega builds on WRT150N, it cannot fit. you have to use a build that is less than 4MB because the WRT150N only has 4MB flash. Besides most users don’t need the stuff in MEGA, use mini builds, they are the best unless you know you use a specific feature on another build then just use mini for greatest performance.
wrt150n can upgrade to tomato firmware?
or can i upgrade to ddwrt special edition SP1 generic type firmware?
bcoz we just need bandwidth management like mikrotik, but uses tomato as BW manager n more powerfull like ddwrt.
I haven’t tried tomato on the WRT150n. DDWRT generic should fit fine on the WRT150N.
