Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Went to a local Thai food restaurant with my wife today for lunch. I ordered Gang Keo Wan (Green Curry). I ordered it to be the spiciest they serve. I was a little disappointed when they brought my curry with dried red chilli flakes all over it. I would have expected a fresh green chilli to add extra spice.

On the other side of the spectrum, when I was in Seattle for SMX Advanced, I had some great curry at a small Thai restaurant called Buddha Bell – not far from Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Highly recommended.

I twittered not too long ago that I setup Glubble on my kid’s computer the other day. Glubble has a lot of online features for families such as an online “message board” where they suggest you move your kitchen bulletin board online, share photos, etc. However the main feature I wanted from Glubble was to allow my kids to visit only certain websites and block everything else. Not a lot of software allows you to do that.

Apparently version 1 of Glubble didn’t do this too effectively and I’m thankful that my experience came with v2. So far I have to say it’s done exactly what I want it to do. I can even see if my kid attempts to access a site they aren’t allowed to. If I want them to be able to access it I can easily enable it from my computer using the Glubble website. Not too bad.

I think what would be best is a free program that you didn’t have to make an account to run. But since there’s nothing out there with that spec, Glubble will just have to do.

I highly recommend the program to any parent who has a kid computer and wants to restrict access to the web. If you do use it, be sure to remove all shortcuts from the menu and desktop to Internet Explorer or other browsers. Eventually your kid will grow up and find their way around it. And when my daughter hits that stage … well I guess I’ll have to firewall her outgoing connections.

Found this over at The Crooked and since they are using a file sharing site, I thought I’d give it it’s own direct link on my server.

So grab Guru – Distortion Revolution — by Steve McNair, Shun and Taka — here.

Here’s a blurb by Steve @ the album:

Guru is not a “Band” in the sense that we ever intend to play together or even make another record- maybe, if we get “inspired” once again. Guru is a short side project for experiementing with some more acid sounding rock. We TOTALLY recognize that this genre isn’t the most popular these days. We in Guru don’t like some of what we did ourselves. But we hope the more “Anti-regular-music” types might appreciate it. High5.
Part’s of Distortion Religion are influenced by the early 90’s Seattle type “discordant” sound, with a bit of other modern ideas thrown around. We wanted something different from the standard predictable popular music. “back to the basics” “no studio tricks and overdubs” and “very easy to play (mostly)” with a modern big loud sound….and a lot of raw aggression. This is what came out of the studio. Sorry (or…maybe it’s a really good thing) that It’s a mini-album. The good news is, we stopped at this because we wanted to get down to business with other real projects in our free time.
Guru is not STEM. It’s a short side project done in our spare time through the Christmas season push with some of the same people, but “formed” for the sake of trying something that wouldn’t really the “STEM” thing. STEM will be releasing a third album later this year, so stay tuned.

A few years back it would have seemed odd to make a comment about good customer service when it comes to warranty service. However recently when trying to replace items, that are under warranty, I’ve had nothing but the run around from companies like Polycom, Dell and Toshiba.

The Story

My Gyration Media Remote broke the other day. It’s got 2 years limited warranty on it. I made 1 call to the company, had my call answered in 5 seconds (no wait time!) and the rep walked me through a couple questions regarding the product and then opened up a RMA for me. The rep was courteous and straight up suggested I get the remote replaced by them. The entire process took 2-3 minutes! Sweet!

Wish I had that kind of support when it came to my Polycom 501′s in my office!

I just got finished watching an episode of Dead Men Talking which dealt with the Green River Serial Killer aka Gary Ridgway. It was interesting on the forensic and investigative aspect of things.

Towards the end of the show were news clips of the court proceedings where the families of those murdered were able to say something to the killer. The one that stood out was the statement by an elderly gentleman with a prominent white beard. He stated “My belief in Jesus tells me that I should forgive those who have done me wrong, so sir you are forgiven”. With all the other statements Gary Ridgway was solemn but he broke down and cried at this statement. There was not any applause in the court as was the case with the other statements, but this elderly man’s statement really nailed the head on what forgiveness is all about.

… For love shall cover a mutlitude of sins. (1 Peter 4:8)

Disclaimer: I in no way condone or wish to promote the Green River Serial Killings. I wish only for this post to highlight the power of forgiveness.
