   Naww…I don’t think the majority of people will give up blogging, though I do believe quite a few should. You and me not included though…heh

   I think the ones who are serious enough about blogging to have their own domains and hosting are the ones who may be here to stay.

   If someone takes their blog seriously enough to do that, it’ll make it far less likely that they kick the blog bucket anytime soon.

   A blogger blog is just a sub-domain on someone else’s web server, and 5 minutes of setup time. Having your own unique TLD shows much more of a commitment. Plus it’s far more useful to the family and the other blogs that you link to as far as search engine rankings go.

   Then again Mike did have his own domain. I wonder though how blogs will play into the offensive. I agree that there will be a percentage who keep blogging. But do you see the trend fading now or increasing?

   Well it’s not really a matter of confidence in an individual. However trends in the Family have their peaks and then they tend to taper off. IMO, blogging in the Fam has hit it’s peak.

   Maybe so,
   I think the blogs that are most likely to die off are the personal news blogs, you know the ones where people just talk about what they ate for breakfast the previous day, while the ones that will live are the ones that publish content on a much broader range of topics.

   Eventually people will get tired of talking about themselves, and either call it quits or move onto something more interesting.
