Bert Brady is one of many volunteers who "stand out" from the crowds of thousands that support him and all the soldiers that have returned from wars. Some walking off a plane, some coming through medical facilities and some arriving in caskets. I applaude you Mr. Brady for voicing the sentiments of thousands of American citizens.

As my fiancé served in the military, his father a retired Marine who served in two wars and my future Brother in Law, now going on his third tour of Iraq, I was so moved by Mr. Brady's wonderful compassion. Living in the triangle between three of the largest military bases in the country, I would love to see that happen here and will look into having that happen. Thanks so much, Mr. Brady.

The ABC video will be posted to my motorcycle club's website. This is great, wonderful, patriotic stuff. I feel inspired, as a veteran, to begin doing this in Oklahoma City. To any readers who have or are serving, and to the loved ones of those serving....may God bless you. To the the site owner....thanks for writing on this man's efforts.

Yesterday, 4/15, my son arrived in Dallas on his way home for two weeks' leave. When he called to let us know he was home he could not say enough about the "fantastic, awesome welcome by what must have been 300 people in Dallas". Bert Brady and all the people that he has recruited for this effort are to be thanked, blessed and congratulated for this most meaningful program. THIS is the USA...THEY are the USA; it's a shame that our liberal news media has distorted what America really is with its' biased coverage.

The word hero is often misplaced but not in the case of Bert Brady.
I live in the land of movie stars, musicians and the famous.
I see these people around and have never been inclined to ask for a autograph from anyone.
Mr Brady is a person that I would brag that I got to shake his hand.
I hope I get that honor someday and to thank him for being the best example of an American,
God bless him and the other good folks that greet our troops.

Dear Responders,
I so appreciate your kind remarks but I do not feel a hero. The true heroes are in uniform protecting our great nation. I am not a public speaker nor have I ever been interviewed for anything before the ABC piece. It was just fortunate that words came out of my mouth that have obviously touched so many lives. Please accept my deepest sympathy for you who have lost relatives in this and past wars. After the Vietnam war, even those of us who did not protest at the time, sat on their hands and did nothing to support our protectors from being spit upon and slandered. It is my hope that we will not allow those insults to go unchallenged this time around. I've met a friend, Richard Glasgow, who wrote "The protesters go to bed each night filled with hate! We go tho bed each night filled with pride! Who do you think sleeps better?"

WOW! I could not help the tears from coming down my eyes when I saw Charlie Gibson's person of the week. I have experienced two simular welcome home ceremonies in my military career (Desert Shield/Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom (2004-2005). Mr. Brady is awesome, as are all the Ladies Auxiliaries of the USO, Veterans groups, BOY/GIRL Scouts of America. God Bless him and all his endeavors. God Bless our Soldiers! Once a soldier, always a soldier! Warriors till the end! Airborne!

He is also my hero. My son has served two tours in Iraq, and is getting ready for his third. It is comforting to know that there's at least one other American out there that appreciates our fine young men and women who are risking their lives so that we can have the freedom that we have. Mr. Brady is a hero in my eyes, along with my son, and all those that have served and are currently serving.
I'd love to meet him!

I want to say thank you to Mr. Brady. It is people like him that make the USA the greatest country in the world. This is why I do what I do in the military. It is a great honor to serve this great country. Knowing that I am doing it for people like Mr. Brady it is a much larger honor. I only hope one day I can meet Mr. Brady, shake his hand and tell him face to face. What a great man and American.
