I had been wanting to do a podcast this week as I’ve got two cool interviews already in with more on the way. But my family came down with the flu and I sound like a toad at present so that podcast will have to wait till I get better.
I came across Ubuntu Studio while reading the Ubuntu Fridge and think it’s an interesting goal, though I think the various sub distros of Ubuntu is becoming a bit much. I mean there’s even an Ubuntu Christian Edition (don’t even get me started on the domain name) with it’s dark nemesis Ubuntu Satanic Edition. Bottom line is all the packages that are being touted in each release are installable from any one of these distros via the online repositories. There’s a small advantage in making them presentable to the end user but I think in many ways making a nice fat DVD distro that has all the variants on it would be the best way to go.

1You should make a TFI versioni (The Family International), with the TeleTRF and Infostore pre-installed.

2The thought had crossed my mind but I figure it would be better to create a package that can be installed on any distros. I’ve been looking into how Google did Picasa for Linux and want to create a package similar to that for both of the above mentioned programs.

3Have a word with James Japan, maybe he can help with a suitable distro for use in The Family.
